 With the continuous development of drilling production, the use conditions of drilling rigs are becoming more and more diversified, and various types of drilling rigs have appeared accordingly. Factors affecting the type and composition of the drilling rig are drilling method, drilling depth, borehole size and drilling tool size, drilling area conditions.(e. g. electricity or fuel, transportation, meteorological conditions), etc.The following is the classification of drilling by Wanglian Machinery.

  • According to drilling method
  1. Impact drill, such as wire rope impact drill (drill), vibration drill, etc.
  2. Rotary drilling rigs, such as those used in rotary drilling.
  3. Downhole power drilling tools, such as rotary drilling tools, turbine drilling tools, screw drilling tools, electric drilling tools, etc.
  • According to drilling depth
  1. Ultra-deep well drilling rig. A drilling rig with a diameter of 114mm drill pipe, a nominal drilling depth range of 7000 meters or more, and a maximum hook load of 4500 kN or more is used.
  2. Deep well drilling rig. A drilling rig with a diameter of 114mm drill pipe, a nominal drilling depth range of 4000-7000 meters or more, and a maximum hook load of 2250-4500 kN or more is adopted.
  3. Medium and deep well drilling rig. A drilling rig with a diameter of 114mm drill pipe, a nominal drilling depth range of 1500-4000 meters or more, and a maximum hook load of 900-2250 kN or more is adopted.

  • According to power equipment
  1. Diesel engine-driven drilling rig, a drilling rig powered by a diesel engine through mechanical transmission or hydraulic transmission.
  2. AC drive drilling rig, suitable for oil field with industrial power grid.
  3. The drilling rig is driven by direct current, and the working unit is driven by direct current motor.
  • Points by driving mode
  1. Separately driven. Each working machine individually selects generators of different sizes to drive, and is mostly used for electric drive. Its transmission is simple and easy to install, but its power utilization rate is low and the total quality of the equipment is large.
  2. Unified drive. The three working units of drawworks, drilling pump and rotary table are driven by the same power unit. Most drilling rigs use this solution. The unified drive can also include only one drilling pump, and the other drilling pump can be driven separately. The power utilization rate of the unified drive drilling rig is high, and the engine can adjust each other when the engine fails, but the transmission is complicated, the installation and adjustment are laborious, and the transmission efficiency is low.
  3. Group driven. The combination of power is between individual drive and unified drive, and there are two options for the three working machines. The power utilization rate of this kind of drilling rig is higher than that of a single drive, the transmission ratio is unified and simple to drive, and two groups of working machines can be installed on different heights and scattered sites.
