Drilling is the use of industrial equipment to drill a deep cylindrical hole out of a geological structure. According to this characteristic, drilling is divided into 2 categories:
1. Drill
Don drill, also known as impact drill. Use galvanized steel wire rope to send the drill bit to the well, which is organized by the power drive beam, so that one end of the beam can exercise left and right, and push the galvanized steel wire rope and the drill bit to cause left and right impact effects, so that the rock formation is crushed. The drilling speed of the drill is slow, the high efficiency is low, and it cannot be integrated into the exploration regulations of the increasing depth of the hole and the complicated geological structure, and is slowly replaced by the rotary drill. However, it has the advantages of simple machinery and equipment, low cost, and no environmental pollution. It can be used for some shallow bottom pressure oil and gas wells, lost circulation wells, etc.
2. Rotary drill
The use of the drilling or milling effect caused by the rotation of the drill bit to break up the rock formation. It is the most versatile drilling method today. The drilling speed is faster than that of the drill, and it is convenient to solve the complicated conditions such as well collapse and blowout. According to the power transmission method, rotary drilling can be divided into rotary drilling and mine power drilling: rotary drilling is carried out in the shaft of the drill floor. There is a round hole in the management center of the rotary table. The square drilling tool at the upper end of the drill string crosses the round hole. The square drilling tool is connected to the drill string and the drill bit. When the rotary table is driven by the power driver, the drill string and the drill bit rotate together to crush the rock formation. Mine power drilling is the use of mine power drilling equipment to push the drill bit to crush the rock formation. The drill string does not rotate when drilling, with little damage and long service life. It is very suitable for drilling directional wells.
